Explore Stunning San Diago Attractions ~ Sunny Southern California

Coronado Beach Lighthouse
Explore Southern California

For Canadians — where much of the country has eight months of winter and four months of bad sledding (changing due to global warming).

Southern California can be
the place to be in November!

San Diego possibly has the best yearly weather in North America, rarely too hot or too cold.

The montage above shows many great places to visit. There are many more.

Great Places to Visit in North Vancouver

Here are some of my many favourite places to explore in North Vancouver.

The Trans-Canada Highway goes through it and the SeaBus ferry and many bus options make North Vancouver easy to get to.

Enjoy!

Lynn Canyon

If you do nothing more than walk across the Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge and come back, the trip is worthwhile.

There are many short walks you can do including:

  • Across the Suspension Bridge, South to Twin Falls, then back to the Suspension Bridge. Great if you only have an hour.
  • Across the Suspension Bridge and North to 30 Foot Pool and back. You can see locals jump from the cliffs on warm days.
  • Across the Suspension Bridge and North to Rice Lake and Lynn Headwaters.
Lynn Canyon

Stick to the trails and read the precautions for visitors at the entrance to the park.

Lonsdale Quay and Lower Lonsdale

The SeaBus from Vancouver goes to Lonsdale Quay.

The Lonsdale Quay Market has a great range of shops and food markets.

Grouse Mountain

Grouse Mountain Gondola

Vancouver is one of those rare places where it is possible to walk or cycle, go sailing, and go skiing all in the same day in the winter months.

Grouse Mountain also offers spectacular views, hiking trails, restaurants, bars, and a Grizzly Bear Habitat most of the year.

You can even try the infamous Grouse Grind and reward yourself with a beer at the top!

Seymour Mountain also provides skiing and summer adventures.

Capilano Suspension Bridge

Being from Lynn Valley, I have bias toward Lynn Canyon. That said, the Capilano Suspension Bridge is also stunning there are many superb attractions in the park including a tree walk, canyon lookout, native art, historical displays, and more.

The Capilano River is an important river for salmon.

There are paths at the mouth of the river where it flows into Burrard Inlet and you can also visit Cleveland Dam upstream.

Grand Boulevard

Grand Boulevard is a park that runs around 10 blocks in central North Vancouver with walking paths, cycle paths, trees, and flower plantings.

There is a fun coffee bar, bagels, The British Butcher and more at the south end.

Deep Cove

Deep Cove

At the Eastern end of the Dollarton Highway (not really a highway) in North Vancouver sits scenic Deep Cove.

Attractions include:

  • Beautify shoreline.
  • Kayak and canoe rentals to explore Indian Arm by water.
  • Shops and restaurants, including world-famous Honey’s Donuts and Goodies!

More Awaits

There are many more places to explore in North Vancouver.

Enjoy!

Exploring False Creek by AquaBus

Looking East from Cambie Street Bridge

One of your first impressions of Vancouver, British Columbia, will be that there is water everywhere. Burrard Inlet to the North, the Fraser River to the South, and False Creek in the middle.

Seawall with paths for bicycles and pedestrians follow the entire waterfront around False Creek.

Two companies operate cute tiny ferries to take people between eight locations around False Creek. Each stop has its own charm.

AquaBus
The larger AquaBuses can accommodate wheelchairs and strollers

We bought a day pass and shot photos and video of all eight stops served by AquaBus ferries. Here are the highlights.

Granville Island

Granville Island was an industrial area important during World War II. Today you can get fresh produce, seafood, unique arts and crafts and much more in the Granville Island Market.

Shops in Granville Island Market

Restaurants, Granville Island Brewery, theatres, art galleries, funky shops, and an art school for kids provide a lot to see.

Luis Martos is often playing at Granville Island

Stamps Landing

The next stop on our tour is Stamps Landing just West of the Cambie Street Bridge.

In June 1867, Edward Stamp build Vancouver’s first industrial operation, Stamp’s Sawmill.

Today the area features apartments with a fabulous view of the water and boats, Mahoney & Sons Irish Bar and Grill, The Wicklow Public House, and the charming Branas Mediterranean Grill. Eat, drink, and be merry!

Orca Whales

Orca whales are a rare sight in False Creek. We caught 4 on camera just West of Stamps Landing.

We were blessed to catch a rare sighting of Orca Wales in False Creek

The Healthy Travel Kit

As a former traveling sales lady I made sure to have many of these essential items in my travel kit. It is worth the time and energy to create your kit and bring it with you whenever you travel.

Make the kit at home and depending on the length of your trip you can use Monday through Sunday pill containers for just a few of each capsule. Just use a label maker to mark the sections of the container.

Many of these items are found in your local health food store, pharmacy and even the grocery store.

DIGESTION

Nothing worse than a digestive upset while away from home. A few of these items on hand will soothe your tummy.

Probiotics to keep the digestive system healthy.

NOW Super Enzymes with meals.

If you feel queasy: Candied Ginger for digestion after a meal.

If you are gassy: Activated Charcoal for tummy upset and gas.

Fresh Bananas or Carob powder are helpful if you get diarrhea.

FALLS BUMPS BRUISES

This has the best remedy to have in your purse in case of a fall or twisting an ankle. I take the tabs or pellets and also put the gel on the body part that is hurting. Tada quick relief.

Open a tube and place content under tongue and allow to dissolve. Do not eat or drink for 15 minutes. Use it when you feel a headache, stomach upset, just that feeling of oh no am I getting the flu?

HEADACHE

When Your Dreams and Your Actions Collide

When you dreams and your actions collide it can be disheartening and you may feel like a failure. Asking is the key to a successful business, as well as in your personal life. If you are not willing to ASK you will miss many opportunities.

So Is this happening to you?

You made the commitment to make calls to existing and or potential clients. The phone is heavy. Your stomach rumbles. You have to pee. You see the sun shining calling you to take a walk. The day drifts by till you say to yourself I’ve done enough.

The week is over. You wonder where is my commission? What happened?

Simple! YOU FORGOT TO ASK

The odds are good if you continue to ASK you will get better at ASKING. The more you ASK the easier it gets. The more you ASK the more people you will be helping others with their healthy and wealth.

  • ASK your client: Can I be of service.
  • ASK a potential Client: May I have an appointment.
  • ASK a client: If they would prefer to be a customer or a distributor.
  • Well you get the picture above. If you don’t ASK the answer is an automatic no.
  • Asking is the SECRET to success. Lack of asking will kill your dream quickly if you let it.
  • Make a commitment today to use the POWER OF ASKING.
